Alex Langlow

Thank You Alex Langlow

Thank you, Alex Langlow, for faithfully serving on our board of directors since the beginning. A devoted father, husband, friend, firefighter and ally, Alex’s commitment to the Race for A Soldier managing safety and logistics for thousands of racing participants has been a service that has been especially needed and appreciated.  His dedication and contributions to the foundation, representing Gig Harbor Fire and all its members has laid the groundwork for a strong and valued relationship. Alex, as you move forward to serve this community in other ways, we want you and your family to know how proud we are of you. Your service to us will never be forgotten.  On both a professional and personal level, as the founder of this organization, I am grateful for the time we have spent together growing the mission to bring hope and healing to our first responders and veterans. Your entire family, including both of your parents, have been incredibly supportive from day one. Your father, Scott Langlow, served as Treasurer and was the author of our marquee event, Swing for A Soldier golf tournament. Your brother Lt. Nick Langlow shares your passion to serve and has been present at so many of our events. Alex, as you look back on your time with us, from our humble beginnings as a group of “wild eyed dreamers” gathering together at the Tides Tavern to the most recent 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast on 9/11, please know that our achievements large in part began with your wise counsel and patient advice and a willingness to serve voluntarily and unselfishly for 11 years. On behalf of the entire board of directors and our community, thank you.

Outgoing President of the Board - Mickey Traugutt

Mickey TrauguttThe Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation would like to express a huge debt of gratitude to Mickey Traugutt. As the outgoing President of the Board of Directors, Mickey has served in the toughest volunteer role, taking on his duties with tremendous focus and seriousness. In his commitment to the growth of our mission, while being deliberate on matters of judicious stewardship, he smoothed the way for us to realize our dreams of delivering Warrior PATHH to the PNW in 2021, articulate our mission to larger audiences, help to develop our monthly veteran and law enforcement support groups, and is responsible for the creation of our beautiful office space, allowing our vision to become a reality. Mickey is stepping aside as President after finishing his term but will remain on the board allowing us to continue benefiting from his leadership, sage advice and support. Thank you for your service Mickey.

Incoming President of the Board - Christer Bradley

We want to congratulate our newly elected President, Christer Bradley, to the Board of Directors for the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation. An Army veteran, devoted husband and father, his commitment to the foundation has been evident since he became aware of our mission seven years ago. Bradley is the Director of Operations for SAFEBOATS, located in Bremerton, and following his lead, they have been a major sponsor and supporter. His fierce passion and advocacy for providing support for our veterans, law enforcement, first responders, has resulted in our ability to provide a world class, strength based and proven training program for post traumatic growth in 2021. We are grateful for his exceptional leadership and advancement of meaningful solutions and invaluable insight, critical for the future of the mission and vision. We are in very good hands with Christer Bradley at the helm. We look forward to forging ahead with hope and optimism. Thank you, Christer, for your sacrifice and service. Lead on!

Incoming Vice President of the Board - Justin Uhler

Justin Uhler

It is with gratitude and appreciation that we announce our new Vice President of the Board of Directors, Justin Uhler. Sr. Director for Infor, Inc., Justin served in the US Army for 10 years as both an enlisted and commissioned Infantryman, deployed to Iraq in support of OIF III from 2004 to 2005. A dedicated husband and father of four children, he demonstrates and values the nobility of service and sacrifice. In this role as VP, his passion for veterans mental, spiritual and physical health will greatly assist us in educating our fellow Americans in what our veterans have gone through and why support for the strength based and wellness programs we are working to deliver, are so vital to our veterans and first responders as well. A keen strategist and visionary, we know that Justin is going to help us reach out goals and provide tremendous support for our “dream team”.

Welcome New Board Members!

Nino Gray
The Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation is honored to announce Nino Gray as one of its newest board members. Gray joined the US Army in 2003, and as an infantryman served honorably until 2012. Awarded the Purple heart when his Stryker Vehicle was hit, Nino sustained catastrophic injuries. As a testament to his faith and courage, he continues to serve his community and country. Nino has worked with several notable nonprofit organizations and is now the Community Engagement manager with the Seattle Seahawks. Nino was asked to offer thoughtful words at the recent 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast on 9/11 and did so with great humility and grace.
Nino has three children that he devotes much of his time to but still has a desire and heart to help his military brothers and sisters reclaim their lives after trauma. His insight and experience will no doubt have a powerful impact on the life changing work our foundation is about to embark upon in 2021. Please join with us in sending congratulations and gratitude for Nino Gray.
Ron O'Farrell

Please join us in welcoming Ron O’Ferrall to the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation Board of Directors. Ron is an 8 year U.S. Army Veteran and has spent 5 years in the Special Operations Community serving as a U.S. Army Ranger with the 2/75th Rangers and 3 years as a U.S. Army Recruiter and Instructor. He has a strong passion for Veterans and their family’s wellbeing. Aside from educating thousands of service members and the senior leadership of active duty members on their VA Benefits, he hosts a transition education podcast called The Ron and John Show weekly. Truth be told, he has mad culinary skills, and we hope to cash in on that too. As a new board member for the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, Ron brings motivation, passion, and humility to our group at a time when organizations like ours need it the most. Volunteering as a board member requires commitment and energy that ignites and inspires. An inspired leader, we are grateful that Ron said yes to this organization. Congratulations and welcome aboard the “dream team”.
