We are meant to thrive, not just survive

“Struggle Well helped me realize how normalizing struggle as a human condition takes the power away from it. I was moved by how easy it was to be open, honest, and vulnerable knowing others struggle as well, even when their struggle was different from mine. Having a community that is willing to be courageous and honest with their challenges is a game changer. The one comment still circling in my head is, “You are the only person responsible to create a life that has meaning.” I don’t have to be victim of my life but can take control to create something beautiful and worthy of living for.”

“I attended Permission to Start Dreaming’s one-day presentation of Struggle Well in Gig Harbor. It was my first time experiencing Struggle Well, and it was an impactful and inspiring day, to hear so many stories of struggle and subsequent growth. As a 30-year law enforcement veteran, and Army vet, the message and testimonies resonated…we need to show up for our veterans and first responders and take care of the people who take care of the people. The love PTSD Foundation shows for these communities is so apparent from the moment you arrive at one of their events. I’m grateful for their service, dedication, and leadership in taking care of this often-forgotten group. I look forward to finding ways to engage with them more and introduce my colleagues to the many ways the Foundation can support them (us).”
